Besides D23, we had a whole Disneyland/California trip in July surrounding the convention! Here are some of the highlights from the rest of our travels:
July 13th, 2017
We flew into California decently early this day and arrived with plenty of time to go to the parks. We met a few characters, had a Fantasyland photo shoot, and rode some of our favorite attractions to kick off the trip!

On Day 2 of D23, we were done pretty early and had a free afternoon! We started off by going on Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout for the first time ever. It was excellent! I have never seen the Guardians of the Galaxy movies but I was a huge fan of this attraction. We were paired with the Jackson 5 song (which is one of my all time favorites!) and the effects were so cool! I cannot wait to go on it again.
I also got a galactic churro which is a churro with blue cinnamon sugar and silver star sprinkles! Yum!
We met up with Ryan and Jackie, got to have a pretty magical Disneyland photoshoot. (Jackie is an absolute wizard with the camera!) Then, after 2 long years of it being closed, we got to watch the soft opening of the new and improved Fantasmic!

The day after D23 ended was Disneyland’s 62nd birthday! We celebrated by spending the entire day in the parks and seeing so many sweet friends.
A huge magical moment of our day was meeting two of the most wonderful princess in all of Disneyland – Cinderella and Snow White! They were absolute angels on earth and we all had way too much fun chatting together.
Then of course, what would a trip to California Adventure be without an obligatory stop at the Cove Bar for some overly aesthetic drinks while we pondered the future of Paradise (aka Pixar) Pier?

We spent one last morning in Disneyland (mostly because I wanted a Jolly Holiday grilled cheese). I was also happily sporting my 3-D printed ears from @imaginexears and couldn’t get over how cute and perfect they were!!
That afternoon, we went out to Ryan and Jackie’s to stay with them for the next two nights. We went to Universal to see Ryan after he was done with work! Bobby absolutely adores Universal Studios in Hollywood so he was on cloud 9. We went on the Studio Tour, The Mummy, and even saw Princess Poppy!
However, the main reason I wanted to go to Universal was for one thing and one thing only – VOODOO DOUGHNUT! I went to Portland one time and had these delectable treasures and have been thinking about them ever since. CityWalk opening a Voodoo was one of the greatest things to happen. Now if only they would come to Orlando!!

Our last day in California was pretty relaxed! All I wanted to do was go to the beach, so we decided on Hermosa! Bobby, Sara, and I had such a peaceful day which was much needed for all of us. We went out to lunch, had some delicious gelato, and looked at all of the stunning dream houses near the beach.
The main reason I chose this beach, though, was because I had to take a look at the Lighthouse Cafe sign – aka one of the places featured in La La Land! Gotta love LA.
Once again, we had such an amazing trip and made so many memories to take back to Florida! Until next time, California! Thank you for always being my second home.
