2017 – A Year in Review

It’s unbelievable to me that this is the third annual ‘Year in Review’ post I get to feature on this blog. 2015 and 2016 were truly wonderful years, but let me tell you, 2017 was something special. Things have changed so drastically, I have grown immensely, and all of the lessons I learned this year have set me up for an amazing 2018!

So before we move onto the post, let’s take a look at a few resolutions I had last year and see how I did!

  • I hope to fully immerse myself in my VIP Internship. From there, I hope to either extend/start a new position when it ends in June! – I had the opportunity to extend my internship and have a full year of VIP Tours! It was an absolute dream come true.

  • By the end of the year, I want to have a plan of what job I will be going into next year. The ultimate goal is to stay with the company! – Still figuring this out, but we are in very serious progress!

  • Travel: Visit 3-5 new places this year! Also start seriously looking into an overseas Disney trip (potentially for 2018?) – I made it to Las Vegas, Nashville, and Saint John, New Brunswick (Canada). And we are just waiting on a few things to start planning that overseas trip!

  • Finances: Figure out a good budgeting/saving/spending system that works well for me! – Sort of! I think I could still be doing better on this.

  • Settle more into Florida and move into a more permanent place! – YES! I did this for sure. I moved into an apartment that I love with two amazing roommates and hope to stay here for a good while.

  • Movies and Books: See at least 20 new movies and complete 4 new books – I may have hit this quota but I didn’t keep track. I still think I could do better!

  • Build better habits: get on a better sleep schedule, limit time spent on my phone in the morning/before bed, devote more time to positive thinking and growing spiritually, and make choices with good health in mind! – YES YES YES! I think I have done great with this! Especially positive thinking and growing spiritually. I am looking forward to focusing on both of those in 2018!

Looking back, I think I made some excellent progress! We still have tons of room for improvement, too, which is exciting because I never want to stop growing. 2017 was the perfect base to get me ready for all that 2018 has to offer.

And that, my friends, sums up the wonderful, magnificent, and glorious 2017! It definitely had it’s ups and downs, but overall this was hands down one of the best years of my life. I absolutely fell in love with my job, I made unbelievable new friends, and I didn’t move out of state for the entire year – It doesn’t get much better than that!

So, looking ahead, here are my top 8 hopes for 2018:

  1. Career: I want to keep growing. I would like to find a home within the company and continue to have a job I love that makes me excited to get out of bed every morning to go to work.
  2. Make the focus of 2018 “love.” I want to infuse love into all situations, friendships, relationships, and myself. I want to be open to/welcome as much love as I can into my life throughout the year.
  3. TRAVEL. This is always on my list because it is the most important to me. My top 3 big trips I want to go on right now are a Tokyo/Shanghai/Hong Kong Disney trip, Italy, and a Disney Cruise to Alaska. I would be ecstatic if I could make at least one of those happen in 2018, if not more!
  4. Join a gym and try to go at least a few times a month.
  5. Continue growing spiritually and living a positive lifestyle. I want to take all of the personal lessons I learned in 2017 and implement them into the new year. Most importantly: learning to let things go, not abandoning my true self, surrounding myself with authentic people with genuine intentions, and treating myself with love and kindness.
  6. Discover and welcome new passions. I want to focus on things that gives me a drive for life. Also, continue to practice gratitude and appreciate the little things on a day to day.
  7. Take more photos and videos with my friends and make more incredible memories!
  8. See more musicals and concerts!

I have never gone into a year with so little of a plan. However, I know 2018 is going to be a year of growth and manifestation. Great things are going to happen! I can feel it.

So now that the resolutions are out there, let’s get started!
